Description

Seen from an altitude of some 6142m above the planetary mean sea level is the colonial valley settlement of the Chiriascuro Valley township. The colonies buildings are extensive cave and cavern networks set into the bases of the surrounding cliffs. Chiriascuro means black and white - other than high noon the depth of the valley is swathed in deep shadow.

Chiriascuro is a nice name. Is it Peruvian ?
