Pallas Athene - Home of Lazarus Long and site of the Howard Foundation rejuvenation clinic on Tellus Tertius. From the book Time Enough For Love by Robert A. Heinlein.
Architecture inspired by the Naboo royal palace from Star Wars The Phantom Menace. All models built and textured by me and Paula Andrews aka
We've had the audio book going in the background whilst we've been working on coruscant buildings this last week or two and Paula suggested that Pallas Athene should look like this so we built it, theres textures from many sources used on very simplistic models, promarily cylinders and capsule primatives. Tex from as obscure sources as dosch and the arch windows from a game model of the colliseum.
Thanks for looking.
Vue 6 xstream, just under 3 billion polys. Theres a rather nice waterfall from the hydro electric plant building but unfortunatly its obscured from this angle.
Well who's to say that this isn't another palace on Naboo else where on the planet?!
We only did see two royal places in the prequel trilogy. The Royal Main Palace that we saw in the Phantom Menace. Then the Royal Retreat that we saw in Attack of the Clones.
If you read the artists notes you'll quite plainly see that it has nothing to do other than architectural style with star wars.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Featuring `ATrue's Literary Fundraiser, works from many Literature Groups on Deviantart aswell as Personal Choices and #Xpose-it's quiz night on the 26th March!
