Had to rebuild this resin model due to the fact it came adrift in the minor earthquake earlier this year and the secondary hull shattered.
The engineering hull is now a plasticard skinned brass rod frame.

Backdrop done in POV-Ray and added in photoshop.

Forgive my stupidity, but I must ask the same question as ~TonyForever. It looks like a render, except for a few regions. Just goes to show how good your renders are :XD:

On another note, I notice that you appear to use the galaxy.inc file in POVRay as well lol Have you ever figured out how to avoid the distortion on the stars toward the edge?

Its a 44 inch resin model. the wing roots shattered along with the rear half of the engineering hull, trust me it looks terrible from above coz theres a brass bar screwed in for support. The support bar is the reason why I took it from underneath and the background is galaxy inc just was originally rendered at 1900 x 1600 0.3AA. Took a bit of doing to bin the background and certain reflections of my workbench.
You'll note that on the primary hull the phaser strips and "out" windows are actually technical pen loaded with acetile ink.

Yeah, I did notice that the phasers appeared to be drawn on, but I didn't notice the same for the out windows. Do you have it lit internally?

the primary hull still has its neon, the secondary's went bang when it fell to its doom. Its transparent resin matted out.

Wait, this is a model kit? Wow, if you hadn't said that, I wouldn't have realized. Even looking close, I just don't see the tell tale signs of a model. Hell of a job, even if it went into explode mode! Well, the explode mode probably was very depressing if it was resin. Not the cheapest material to see explode.
