One of the many meshes I've done over the years thats been either given away or binned. This was given to a friend of my son Daniel to rip apart for greebles. I got tired of all the idiot fanboys whining that this part was wrong or that part was textured wrong so in the end I just withdrew it and scrapped it. Thanks to this one last year I've not built anymore stargate stuff, the basement dwellers can go screw. (assuming that they are able) Found this copy this morning on a removable HDD that I flattened, thought I'd render it once before it went to a gov level wipe :)

Mesh built in Modo 302, textured in Modo302, rendered in Lightwave. (originally the ship was rendered in maxwell)

Roughly 40k Polys.

You know I don't remember ever looking at that ship long enough to know if there is any inconsistencies. But these kind of designs are not that easily nailed. Like the ships from the Aliens series.

I just got really tired of the whiners, the people that spend all day with a microscope on bloody fan shit then criticize what they can't create themselves. You know the type, theres loads here on dA. The thing that got me so I'd had enough wasn't here. But it did get me thinking along the lines of why I actually model in the first place - I enjoy modelling. Fuck the idiots who don't like it. Lurkers aren't even worth responding to anyway - no gallery so no say.

3d modeling for me has made me appreciate others' abilities so much more. After all, I used to be one of those lurkers that would have smarmy quips like "The warp nacelle is wrong... couldn't the guy have fixed that?"... And now I realize how difficult and rewarding modeling can be. Thanks for displaying this one!

its called greebling or adding nurnies depending on who you meet. Its not hard and adds "realism" to a model. Just get me an example to play with and you can judge for yourself.
